From the recording American Elegy for Strings

American Elegy for Strings
Composition for string quartet in five sections; composed and produced by Rhys Jones.
American Elegy for Strings is an elegy for the American legacy realized over the past 75 years. It is bittersweet, melancholy, and elegiac, a pause to remember and lament the loss of so much progress lost in such a short period of time. We need to stay optimistic and resolute to overcome our country's recent setbacks. The Elegy is a refuge for those moments when we need to indulge a sense of loss and channel outrage into resolve.
