"American Elegy for Strings" is an elegy for the American legacy realized over the past 75 years. It is bittersweet, melancholy, and elegiac, a pause to commemorate the loss of so much progress in such a short period of time. While we should remain optimistic and resolute to overcome the dramatic setbacks the country has experienced, the Elegy is a comfort in those moments when one may need to indulge a sense of loss and channel outrage into resolve.
